We need your help!
The first steps to improve the animal husbandry of our Zoo are achieved. As a result, the Gorillas and Chimpanzees are now housed in more spacious indoor enclosures, the Hulmans and the Roloway Monkeys in the Small Monkey House are rollicking through a 5-meter- high exhibit flooded with light, the Small Cats are enjoying more space in enlarged outdoor exhibits and the Ouwls have been granted spacious avairies whereas the Sumatran Tigers are roving across their new outdoor territory, and the Elephants are exploring their new spacious outdoor compound.
It’s, however, not yet time to lean back contentedly. Much remains to be done. In 2005, we will start constructing the outdour enclosures for the Chimpanzees, with the aim of providing Max, Conny and Co. the same fine living conditions outdoors as in the newly conceived indoor enclosures.
We want to carry on swiftly - to ensure our animals’ well-being in the custody of the Heidelberg Zoo and, moreover, fill many people with enthousiasm for the protection of the endangered nature.
Unfortunately, our financial means are limited - obliging us to postpone the execution of some important projects. It is your financial aid which may help us start as soon as as possible the construction of new compounds needed.
A donation from your part which would be highly appreciated should be made to our bank account No 15911 with Sparkasse Heidelberg (Bank Code: 672 500 20). Should there be any questions, we would be pleased to inform you personally. In this case, please, contact us under our mailing address: Tiergarten Heidelberg, Tiergartenstraße 3, 69120 Heidelberg, send us an e-mail under dr.wünnemann@zoo-heidelberg.de or give us a call under Phone 06221-645510.
